Join nationally touring performing songwriter Meghan Cary and her band for an evening of story and song that will keep you on the edge of your seat if not up on your feet. Meghan Cary’s music-career debut was an unintentional triumph. She won Billboard Magazine’s esteemed Critic’s Choice for Best Newcomer for her first effort, “New Shoes”. Up till then she was a theatre actress with over 100 credits for her work in the US and Europe and she had a successful voiceover career. When her fiancé unexpectedly died, she picked up his guitar and wrote her debut, followed by two other albums, and dove into a successful music career. Her smoky voice, emotional singing, and vulnerable writing garnered favorable comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, Shawn Colvin, Indigo Girls, and Stevie Nicks. At a gig at CBGB’s (NYC) Meghan met her husband in the opening band. They married, had two children, and ultimately relocated to Erdenheim, in Cary’s home state of PA to raise their young family. Initially Meghan tucked music away, worrying it would interfere with being a devoted mother, but as the journey unfolded she realized what an enriching symbiotic relationship music and motherhood could have. An evening of Meghan’s music chronicles the journey of life from painful past to joyous present.
